This Privacy Policy describes how BoardsQuest (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, mobile application, and related services (the “Service”). Production URL: https://boardsquest.com/privacy .

1. Information we collect

Account data — email address, password (stored hashed), and profile preferences such as selected specialties.
Usage data — practice activity, question attempts, progress, and similar study telemetry needed to operate the Service.
Device and log data — IP address, browser or app version, and diagnostic logs for security and reliability.
Purchase data — subscription status and transaction identifiers from payment providers (e.g. Stripe, Apple). We do not receive full payment card numbers from Apple In-App Purchase.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and improve the Service, authenticate users, process subscriptions, personalize study features, communicate about the account, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

3. Sharing

We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf (hosting, email, analytics where used, and payment processors). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Apple App Store purchases

When you subscribe through the iOS app, Apple processes payment. We receive subscription and transaction metadata needed to unlock and maintain Pro access. Apple’s privacy policy applies to data Apple collects as the merchant of record.

5. Retention

We retain account and study data for as long as your account is active and as needed for legitimate business and legal purposes. You may request deletion of your account subject to legal retention requirements.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your choices

You may update account settings in the app or website, manage Apple subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, and contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL and revise the “Last updated” date.
